New clinical guidelines recommends oncolytic virotherapy

Oncolytic virotherapy was included in skin cancer and melanoma clinical guidelines recently, which is the first time, when clinical guidelines recommend oncolytic virotherapy.

Clinical guidelines “Diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of skin cancer and melanoma” have been approved in the Latvian National Health Service July 28, 2015. The new clinical guidelines were developed by working group from Oncology Centre of Latvia co-ordinated by dr.habil.med., professor Dace Baltina.

Oncolytic virotherapy is recommended for melanoma patients of stages IB, IIA, IIB, IIC and for metastatic melanoma.
