On 17 October, 2013, Latvia was visited by the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov with an escorting business delegation. In the framework of his visit agenda, the Latvian Virotherapy Center's representatives had a meeting with Professor, Doctor Rustam Khamdamov, Head of the Uzbek State Pharmacy Holding. During the meeting, a memorandum of mutual understanding was signed between the countries with the aim of promoting virotherapy availability for oncology patients in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
